About the Team:

You`ll be joining a very new and exciting part of Telefonica. Have you heard of Smart Metering? Well you`ll get the chance to support one of the largest smart metering projects in the world, providing communications services to the Public Sector! We`re on the look-out for a talented and experienced Architect to provide leadership in all integration aspects of the programme, so an exciting time to join!

Your Role:

As Technical Architect, you`ll be responsible for the creation of interface architecture across our Smart Metering Architecture.

Responsibilities

-Creating the optimum technical solution in the context of the Smart Metering environment, requirements, and financial resources
-Owning the lifecycle and requirements associated with Development, Test and Live environments to balance capability and cost of the architecture
-Ensuring a quality system design which provides good system capacity and performance, an effective human-machine interface, optimal operational cost, and flexibility for future change
-Maximizing the productivity of the project team by installing an effective development environment, establishing programming, design, and other technical standards, training team members, and providing advisory and trouble-shooting support
-Providing a focal point for all technical issues and initiatives on the project
-Ensuring that all components of the technical architecture are properly implemented
-Assess, Design, and Deliver an Architecture that supports High Availability and Scalability
-Responsible for Build Integrity (daily/periodical), as well as Designing standards/policies across the Application Lifecycle
-Collaborate with Lead Solution Architects and Technical architect, Business Analysts and Design teams to ensure quality delivery

Skills and Experience:

-Must have a background in Applications Architecture background working for global organisations with complex structures
-Experience in applying architectural tools and methods
-Experience in IT communications protocols, systems integration and project delivery
-Ideally experience with Mobile Radio Network communications protocols
-Demonstrable experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise software
-Ideally experience with enterprise software covering BI, OSS, Billing, and all aspects of Mobile Radio Network communications protocols
-Experience in the energy / utilities space is advantageous
