About your Team:

The Security operations team provide a number of functions that support the business from a security audit and compliance perspective. The team monitor and respond to security incidents, working closely with the Computer Emergency Response team (CERT) to manage security incidents and protect service.

The team are responsible for the analysis of IT Security threats that could impact company resources. As a Security Incident Analyst you are responsible for delivering an excellent customer service by responding to any requests and incidents within agreed SLA`s.

About your Role:

The primary function of the role will be to investigate and manage Security Incidents, to establish the extent of the issue, the business impacts and collect evidence to pass to operational owners, the CERT team and relevant governance teams. Additional functions will include doing user access audits and setting up vulnerability scans.

This role will work within business hours, but will include shift work to ensure adequate coverage throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

Main responsibilities:
-To investigate and manage Security Incidents, to establish the extent of the issue, the business impacts and to collect evidence for escalation.

-Security Incidents will include alerts from the following solutions:
-SIEM (Security Information and Event Management)
-Network Access Control
-Data Loss Prevention
-File Integrity Monitoring
-Intruder Detection System

-Ensure all security alerts are managed, investigated and closed within the given SLAs.

-Responsible for the set up and configuration of Vulnerability scans (using commercial off the shelf applications).

-Responsible for the biannual audits for the following: Firewall user access and Arcsight user access, ensuring compliance and security best practice are adhered too.

Essential skills, attributes and experience:

-Good understanding of the TCP/IP stack. Understanding of Network interconnections, including how protocols communicate
-An understanding of vulnerabilities, IT Security and Network Threats.
-Good communication & Organisational skills
-Excellent team player
-Excellent self-motivation and the ability to deliver key activities unsupervised
-Exposure to IT service management best practices such as ITIL.
