About the Team:
The NMC IP networks Team are a key group responsible for the 24*7 monitoring of O2`s Core IP network supporting our Customers and our own Internet Services and Traffic. Equipment includes Cisco Routers and Switches, Checkpoint Firewalls and F5 Load Balancers and this involves us in most of the Services provided by O2.
Your Role:
With your Network expertise, you`ll see that our Enterprise Network is always in working in optimal order. You`ll identify, diagnose and fix faults where possible, otherwise escalate network, security, VOIP or some Unix issues, handling 1st and 2nd line network troubleshooting and working with various teams to resolve faults. The enterprise estate consists of routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, as well as Unix elements. Most of the systems you`ll be dealing with are Cisco and you`ll be responsible for liaising with this supplier, as well as Nortel, F5, BT, Checkpoint and Maxima.
Responsibilities:
You`ll be used to dealing with a range of hands-on networks issues, using extensive technical expertise. This should cover some or all of the following;
-IP knowledge
-Detailed Log analysis
-Router and Switch knowledge
-MPLS networking technology
-Cisco Routers and Routing protocols
Skills and Experience:
-You`ll have proven practical network experience
-Have a detailed knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies and associated architecture
-Ideally you`ll be certified at CCNA or CCNP qualified
-You must be comfortable with shift work
-Be highly flexible, tenacious and resilient and develop the same with fellow team members
-You`ll be confident working under own initiative, whilst being supportive of team aims and objectives and be able to work under periods of high pressure
-A common-sense approach with problem solving and diagnostic skills is a must
