About the Team:

The Data Access Team which manages the delivery of the internet to customer devices from the radio layer / packet core manages two data centres in London which host a large number of our online services and is also be responsible for some elements of SMIP within the network. The team, which comprises of thirty full time people with many more managed services and a large number of vendors supporting the team. We focus on using representative hardware and systems, working closely with suppliers, to ensure our customers` needs are delivered in a reliable and consistent manner that will delight our customers generate revenue and protect our network.

Your Role:

The role is within the Data Access Infrastructure Design Team.
To apply extensive and detailed technical knowledge and expertise to Data Access Infrastructure solution for projects, ensuring achievement of the objectives, milestones and deliverables of the projects. To develop Data Access Infrastructure which in turn leads to increased customer satisfaction, enhanced quality, reduced operating costs and increased capability

Responsibility

-To lead / support on design / evolution of the Data Access Network infrastructure including but not limited to ensuring the network and server infrastructure is fit for purpose and delivers the capacity and functionality required
-To support on evolution of the Data Access Network infrastructure solution and ensure it meets its future requirements
-To cover the Tef UK London Data Centres, Marlow and Data Access in a Box infrastructure
-To support and develop other members of the wider Mobile Data team as necessary and appropriate
-Guide Marketing, Customer Care and Operations on all aspects of Data Access Network infrastructure in life and roadmap

Skills and Experience:

-Proven experience and involvement IP networking and Unix servers system administration
-Expertise and experience in high availability data centre infrastructure design including:
oPrivate Cloud Network Management
oData Centres
oLoad balancing
oIPv6
oForecasting, capacity management, performance evaluation and troubleshooting
-In depth knowledge of Intel based servers and Linux Operating System from a design, configuration and operational perspective.
-In depth knowledge of F5 load balancers and Cisco routers from a design, configuration and operational perspective
-Experience with VMWare ESXI virtualisation from a design, configuration and operational perspective
