Position Overview

This position is an independent contributor able to work independently on assignments involving more varied and complex issues with limited to no supervision. This position is expected to be able to solve job site challenges and make modifications as needed in order to complete project goals within budgetary, functional and/or project scope constraints. This position requires one to not only be proficient in their area of responsibility, but also requires that he/she effectively mentor and/or instruct less experienced team members and/or customers in and out of the field.

ยท  Responsible for safe and high quality service.
ยท  Attend relevant training courses related to specific discipline.
ยท  Responsible to make sound technical decisions based on logical reasoning and analysis.
ยท  Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, have a strict adherence to procedures/processes mindset for technical and policy compliance.
ยท  Responsible for accurately filling Field Service Orders (FSO) and Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT), and accountable for the timely submission of these and other revenue generating documents.
ยท  Excellent planning is a must for the successful performance of the duties of this position.
ยท  Technicians working at this level are also responsible for safeguarding FMCTI property and the safety of all personnel designated to perform that assignment.
ยท  Technicians at this level are considered leads and required to train, mentor, and instruct members of their field service team when on assignment and are responsible for job site as FMCTI's job site supervisor.
ยท  Generally characterized as an "Independent Contributor," with ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to business problems uncovered during course of performing assignments.
ยท  Detailed instructions are provided for difficult or unusual assignments.
ยท  Proactively provides input into technical decisions being made.
ยท  Professionally handles project issues as they arise which eliminates downtime.
ยท  Typically will interface with departmental staff, supervisory and lower level management, and outside customers.
ยท  Commitment to customer service is critical.
ยท  In the field environment the Technician serves as the on-site supervisor to the FMCTI field service crew and is responsible for reporting back to subsea service management.
ยท  No budgetary responsibility.
ยท  No direct or indirect reports.

Position Qualifications

ยท  Works independently to install, test and repair new and reworked FMCTI products (equipment and tools), insuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining FMCTI owned assets.
ยท  Assures all equipment, service tooling and spare parts are on location and ready to use by performing inventories and function-fit tasks prior to beginning each job.
ยท  Records critical information such as dimensions, weights, temperatures, pressures and flow rates to ensure assembly/system will work per design and procedure requirements; also assists with the review of product testing, running and in some cases with assembly procedures.
ยท  Completes more complex tasks in accordance with procedures and applicable codes and/or standards, offering guidance to less experienced personnel.
ยท  Provides project support, as required, for all new projects which includes: attending design review for equipment and tools, reviewing installation procedures, assisting with project Factory Acceptance Tests and reviewing project training requirements for service personnel.
ยท  Establishes and maintains communication with Customer Representative on issues including job installation/testing procedures, equipment, tooling and spare parts requirements, equipment and tooling function-fit and critical technical data (dimensions, measurements, weights, temperature, pressures and flow rates).
ยท  Provides sales support through quality customer interface via excellent communication by insuring the customer is fully informed of all aspects of the job before, during and after successful/unsuccessful tasks.
ยท  Handles customer comments, requests and complaints in a professional manner.
ยท  Completes Field Non-Conformance Reports (FNCR) as product and procedural problems are encountered. Assures all quality issues and documentation (equipment and procedural defects) is communicated and sent back to FMCTI Service Management.
ยท  Completes field documentation (Daily, Service, End-of-Well and other required reports) after the completion of each service job.
ยท  Maintains technical information readily available (Tally Book or other forms) to communicate general procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions as well as customer questions, concerns and complaints.
ยท  Prepares and completes safety related documentation (Job Safety Analysis, incident, and other required reports) consistently for the purpose of heighten safety awareness and accident prevention.
ยท  Understands and follows all FMCTI and customer safety requirements.
ยท  Proactively pursues safe work practices and participates in safety training.
ยท  Proactively pursues the attainment of new technical training and skills for the purpose of advancing and updating knowledge and competence.
ยท  Assists as needed with the development of procedural requirements for current and future jobs.
ยท  Serves as the on-site supervisor to the FMCTI field service crew and is responsible for reporting back to subsea service management.
ยท  Trains, mentors, and instructs members of the field service team when on assignment.

Requirements
ยท  Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
ยท  High School diploma or equivalent required.
ยท  Typically 3+ years of experience in field service technician role.
ยท  Valid driver's license required.
ยท  Valid passport required.
ยท  Possesses thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted internal business processes and procedures.
ยท  Requires advanced knowledge of one or more of the following fields: electrical; subsea equipment; hydraulics equipment; mechanical equipment and tools; structural steel.
ยท  Relies on systemic thinking and understanding of broader organizational implications and implements creative and unique solutions.
ยท  Proficient in applicable software applications.
ยท  Ability to read and understand drawings. Able to perform moderately complex calculations.
ยท  Ability to use and understand technical tools and instruments and perform basic troubleshooting.
ยท  Required to interpret job requirements and coordinate equipment needed.
ยท  Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential to effectively teach other employees.
ยท  Able to effectively communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner, quickly grasping the essential information that must be conveyed and responding well to difficult questions.
ยท  Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is important.
ยท  Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and coaching, and respond appropriately.
ยท  Proficiently communicate ideas and concepts with ability to persuade, influence and facilitate problem resolution.
ยท  Understanding and communication within diverse cultural environments is critical

Work Environment

Work is primarily in the field environment including offshore drilling and production platforms, land based and offshore drilling and production platforms, installation vessels and international locations. Work is outside and therefore conditions are dependent of the elements (heat, cold, wet, etc.) The job is often required to be done in high noise areas and depending on the particular job, is often completed in a very dirty environment. Must be able to work varied schedule with extended hours.

Physical Demands

Very physical job requiring frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, climbing and driving. Uses mechanical hand tools including all types of manual wrenches and many types of power tools driven with hydraulics, electronics and pneumatics.
