Role: Quality Manager (Pork)

Salary: £30,000

Location: Westhoughton

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Tayto Group Ltd is seeking a Quality Manager (Pork) to join their team based in Westhoughton, near Bolton and also covering our site in Wolverhampton. This is a full time role offering a competitive salary of £30,000 plus pension, online discount scheme and Childcare Vouchers.

You may have heard of our household brands such as Golden Wonder, Tayto Crisps and Mr Porky!.....as the Quality Manager (Pork) within Tayto you will support the site management teams in the creation and delivery of strategies to improve product quality and GMP standards within the Westhoughton and Wolverhampton facilities.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Manager (Pork):

Standards:

- Lead the HACCP function at each site

- Manage audits and customer visits

- Drive reduction of complaints and improvement of performance at customer panels

- Drive improvement of raw material quality

- Integrate sites with group technical policies, procedures and standards to achieve and maintain BRC certification

- Ensure relevant documentation is accurate, implemented and fully trained on site

KPIs:

- Manage all site related quality KPI information by ensuring that it is collated and presented in appropriate formats

- Monitor KPIs and ensure that action is taken when trends indicate potential issues

- Respond to consumer complaints as necessary

Projects:

- Support site related projects where appropriate and manage projects that apply to site related quality management systems

- Identify cost reduction projects or initiatives and drive to completion

Suppliers:

- Ensure that a system for ensuring the quality of pork supplied is implemented and maintained

- Audit suppliers as identified through the supplier assurance system

Customers:

- Host customer visits and audits as appropriate

Skills and Experience needed to become our Quality Manager (Pork):

- Ideally a Degree in a science, engineering or food science related discipline

- At least 3 years experience in food manufacturing

- At least 1 years management experience in a food manufacturing environment

- IT literate, with a good knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written

- Flexibility on timekeeping

- Ability to travel with frequent overnight stays

Please note this role will require weekly travel to Wolverhampton (and overnight stays) for which the use of a company pool vehicle will be available.
