What you will do:


SWIFT would like to hire new talented people to strengthen the EMEA Customer Support organization located in The Netherlands. The Technical Support Engineer will work closely with the rest of the team serving the different leading financial institutions spread across the globe. The team provides technical support on a wide range of technical and business applications. SWIFT will offer you the required training on the products developed by SWIFT and on the different operating systems and/or (network) protocols allowing you to help our customers according to the highest standards SWIFT is known for.



Your responsibilities will include:



  • Resolve and report on customer queries and problems of various levels of complexity. Troubleshoot and quickly diagnose complex problems and propose measures to prevent recurrence

  • Establish the root cause of all technical problems within own area of expertise and provide end-to-end service support

  • Build and maintain customer relationships and increase customer satisfaction by performing checks of their operational environment and giving recommendations for improvement

  • Implement solutions and contribute to providing product-related consulting or training at customer sites

  • Help the overall knowledge within the teams by providing training to colleagues and / or proposing new ways for improving the services to the customers

  • Provide technical support to the commercial divisions by participating in technical reviews and giving product presentations and demos

  • Participate in service improvement projects within own area by assisting the consulting team with technical projects




Skills



  • Bachelor or Master degree in IT / Engineering or equivalent

  • 2 - 5 years work experience as a Technical / Customer Service Engineer

  • Experience with various OS such as Linux, AIX, Solaris and/or Windows

  • Good knowledge of TCP-IP, Routers, VPN, Firewalls, SSL setup, etc.

  • Knowledge on Oracle databases, MQ series and/or IBM WebSphere is an advantage

  • Familiarity with SWIFTNet products is a plus

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English. It is an advantage when you also speak other languages

  • Positive team participation skills

  • Highly developed troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
