Job description
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
As a Team Leader in the Fabrication Department, you will be responsible for the coordinating the daily activities of all fabrication work centers and the supporting colleagues. Through this coordination and colleague engagement, your leadership will help the fabrication team safely produce the highest quality products on time and in a cost effective manner.
You will be expected to be involved in daily production planning including, but not limited to the following tasks:
Assigning and balancing resources to support production requirements
Understanding and managing work order priorities (ie: promised jobs, hot jobs, late jobs, etc.) to keep the department on target.
Engaging your team on top production issues (ie: efficiency variance, rework, routings, job cards, etc.) and partnering with them and plan resources (ie: supervisors, engineering, integration, etc.) to improve upon current state (ie: root cause problem solving, mistake proofing, etc.)
Partnering with area resources to improve upon established fabrication metrics (ie: percentage to standard, rework, etc.)
Partnering with your supervisor to coach/mentor colleagues on daily continuous improvement.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, routings, pick lists, bills of materials to perform functions of job.
Obtain necessary information and daily work schedule by referencing computer system.
Ability to perform word processing or data analysis utilizing Microsoft Office.
Produce and implement standard work instructions and training materials.
Ensures an organized, clean, and safe workspace by understanding and applying the use of the 6S guidelines.
May be assigned to other areas within the organization as the need arises.
WHAT WE EXPECT
High School Diploma or Equivalency
3-5 Years Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Proven Track Record of Continuous Improvement
Understanding of LEAN Manufacturing Culture
Ability to Collaborate Among Cross Functional Teams
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
