Job description
A position has arisen for a Freelance Jewelry Designer who will be responsible for translating a collection from a concept to a viable collection of Atelier Swarovski jewellery in line with the Atelier Swarovski mission statement.

WHAT WE EXPECT
Design
· Designing and execution of illustrated drawings and specification sheets for factory submission for development, which will be included in a final dossier that will be presented during the season
· Meetings and conference calls with the Atelier Swarovski team, and the appointed seasonal designer when required
· Presentation of concept(s) and mood board(s) if necessary
· Reviewing and finalizing each design per collection, per style, per Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) and target price point per style
· Providing timeline for the development of the collection
· Finalizing sketches / technical sketches per style
· Creating 3D technical renderings
· Helping with sourcing materials and suitable manufacturer(s) who can adhere to Swarovski Quality Standard Requirements
· Providing feedback on feasibility of a concept
Development
· Initial conversation with Product Development team and factories/suppliers and follow up as and when appropriate
· Special developments (embroidery, special material development)
· Technical packs and sample development
· Trip to factories for product development
· Detailed renderings of each style
· Prototype correction specification
· Trip to factories where required to guide final sample development
· Final sample inspection
· Final sample comment sheets
· Assistance with testing of components for CLEAR compliance and analysis of test results
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set and experience:
· Proven experience undertaking a similar function within a similar role
· Excellent written and spoken English is essential and Italian would be beneficial but is not essential
· Master of Arts (preferable but not essential)
· Degree level educated or equivalent
· CAD Skills – Rhino (3D modeling)
· Good product and pricing awareness in order to give accurate direction to produce a creative and competitive product
· Knowledge of Swarovski Crystal is desirable
· Candidate must be trend driven and possess strong initiative
· Strong commercial eye
· Jewelry manufacturing knowledge is essential
