CAD DESIGNER (Digital Engineer) Jewelry

Job description

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
You will develop technical jewelry designs based on design drawings from Swarovski's creative teams and operate all technical equipments that support 3D design process in product developments. You will provide technical drawings, renderings, 3D input and CAM-related solutions such as rapid prototyping.

In this newly created position, you are reporting to the Manager, Digital Engineering Bangkok and your main responsibilities include the following:
- Create 3D jewelry designs: Execute 3D jewelry designs based on design drawings and inputs from the product engineering teams
- Discuss designs directly with English speaking designers based in Europe and Asia
- Create technical drawings of parts/components: Create technical drawings for jewelry components that can be used for sourcing activities
- Create line drawings: Create 2D line drawings for labels of jewelry items (only for 3D-modelled designs)
- Create renderings of jewelry designs: Create renderings and animations for jewelry items (set up scenes, position light sources, etc.)
- Operate 3D printers: Create STL input based on CAD data, create and optimize support structures for printing, load trays for RP machines and remove support materials after job completion (for selected jobs)
- Maintenance & replenishing: Changing of bulbs for RP machines and refilling of built materials
- Data maintenance of files on PLM: Upload CAD & CAM (.stl) and other data into PLM system

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU.
Alongside a results driven attitude and a passion for design and aesthetics, you hold a Degree in Gems and Jewelry technology (or possess equivalent working experience in jewelry industry) and have more than 2 years experience in jewelry design. You possess a solid knowledge of 3D design software such as Rhino or Matrix and are able to communicate well in Thai and English. Ideally you will have some experience in rendering and operation of rapid prototyping equipment.
