Ink Chemist – Cambridgeshire – Ink Formulation

One of the leading science institutes in Cambridgeshire are currently in need for an experienced Ink Chemist to work on novel ink formulation projects for the development and brand new technologies. This company are recruiting due to the vast success they are currently experiencing and they want to develop their technologies further, this is where you could help.

You will be working within a successful team of ink chemists, physicists, engineers and visionary experts. To fit into this group you will need to have industry experience in the development of ink or paint technologies from a chemical or scientific approach.

The reason industry experience is important is due to having the understanding of the commercial workplace, this being said if you have worked to tight timelines on external projects while working in academia I would also be interested in seeing your details.

Due to the direction the marketplace is taking if you already have inkjet knowledge this will be highly advantageous, however we will still be interested if your knowledge is in other areas of ink or pain formulation.

Apart from the industry experience we are ideally looking for driven people who have a real passion for their work. People who will be excited to push new technologies to their limits and then invent new ideas to push them further. The facilities in place are top of the range and your career and skills will continually be develops and challenged.

Specific things you will have knowledge of while working in industry include; bead milling, pigment dispersion, electrostatic inks, liquid toners, ink formulation, paint formulation, dispersion metrology and colour sciences. Although you will not need to know all of these knowledge of as many as possible with be advantageous.

Ideally you will hold a 1st or 2:1 degree from a leading university, but honestly if you have worked your way up from the shop floor into an Ink Chemist role we would still be very interested as the industry experience is more important.
