SR Cooling Product Applications Engineer

Job description

·  Act as a lead technical expert in cooling water treatment of refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, steel mills, universities, and similar industrial and commercial facilities.
·  Provide technical troubleshooting and auditing of cooling water systems and programs at key customer sites. Develop action plans and drive execution to solve the toughest technical problems.
·  Attend high-level customer meetings and present technical information to key operations, engineering, and plant management.
·  Work closely with the commercial team in responding to RFQ’s and designing and optimizing treatment programs. Develop documentation to support and justify recommendations.
·  Conduct regular and advanced cooling water technical training sessions with the commercial team.  Also conduct cooling water seminars at customer sites and corporate headquarters.
·  Participate and/or own one or more new product initiatives. Financial projections, regular report outs, planning, key decision making, obtaining suitable trial sites, product strategy and promotion are typical tasks. This also includes significant coordination with internal and external groups.
·  Participate or own one or more direct material productivity improvement (DMP) teams.
·  Assist in shaping the direction of the product line by providing experience based insights, ideas, suggestions and data driven opinions. May be asked to develop and conduct technical and marketing surveys in support of product line related improvement initiatives.
·  Work with the Technology team to design and monitor plant trials and lab experiments to optimize program performance.
·  Manage remote teams, directing local on-site personnel who are responsible for specific information gathering.
·  Participate in cross functional teams to asses and or respond to new industry developments, competitive offerings, new chemical treatment technology, water treatment equipment and monitoring tools that relate to cooling water.  Work with Product Management to develop and execute an appropriate action plan and communications.
·  Create technical content for case histories, best practice documents, customer facing technical advisories, reference manuals, and industry playbooks.
·  Participate in industry technical conferences, committees, industry groups to properly represent Suez’ position on key cooling water related issues.
·  Communicate Suez Water advantages and knowledge through internal and external publications, conferences, and presentations.
·  Own or assist in the development of new calculation and program selection tools.
·  Work closely with Product Management, Technology, Commercial teams, customers, and industry contacts to support, and drive new business initiatives.
