You will join SUEZ Europe & Central Asia, a Business Unit (BU) looking to achieve significant growth in its Water and Waste activities in the countries selected in the Group's strategic roadmap for the medium-term plan. The ambition is strong, but the BU wants to develop its activities notably in the following countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and potentially Spain. However, we also need to keep a close eye on the market, so that we can potentially develop in other countries in the region.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Intern to join the finance department of the Europe & Central Asia Business Unit of Suez. The intern will support various financial tasks with a special focus on reporting and financial analysis. This role will provide hands-on experience in financial planning, analysis, and controlling, offering a solid foundation in corporate finance within an international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the finance department in day-to-day operations, working closely with the finance team including the BU CFO and Financial Controller.
· Assist with financial reporting and its production, ensuring timely and accurate submission of key financial data.
· Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial statements and accounts, providing insights into variances, trends, and performance indicators.
· Collaborate in financial controlling tasks, including budget tracking, cost analysis, and variance reporting.
· Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts and budgeting exercises.
Which skills and experiences you will need to succeed in this role?
· Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a business school.
· Prior experience in a finance or accounting position is a plus.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (such as SAP) is a plus.
· Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal and in English (mandatory) and in French (desirable), with the ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
