Description :

We are currently seeking a high-energy,
self-motivated Field Service technician with a proven track record,
to support Chemical Monitoring Solutions (CMS) Water Technologies &
Solutions sales force and customers. Supporting process control equipment
product line, including standard pumps, controllers, proprietary control and
monitoring systems such as the Pacesetter, TrueSense, and other associated
process control equipment in both heavy and light industry.

The Field Service Technician (supporting UT, ID, CO
WY, MT, WA) will provide necessary support building out the Platform Center of
Excellence (COE), reporting to the North American Field Services Leader, led by
a regional Lead. He/she will support all chemical equipment
engineering activities including commissioning, programming, calibration,
project execution, onsite training, troubleshooting and repairs for equipment
used to dose and control chemicals to process application streams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

-
Commissioning, configuring, validating,
training for equipment/instrumentation, electrical and mechanical, leading
installation fulfillment, control logic programming, and general hardware and
software support.

-
Capable of self-directed electrical and
mechanical installation of components required for final tie-ins to
applications in the field.

-
Troubleshooting hardware and software
problems for customers and/or the W&PT field sales force via telephone or
on-site at customer locations.

-
Keeping up to date with all Technical Operational
skills pertaining to this position, including all applicable safety procedures
while meeting end customer requirement and expectations.

-
Understanding responsibilities during
installations, calibration, validation, verification, and preventative
maintenance and repair services for all relevant chemical feed equipment,
safely.

-
Repairing and/or calibrating instruments
in accordance with diagnosis and instructions from the Technical Support group
if needed, following designated O&M manuals as appropriate.

-
Demonstrating proficiency performing all
test and calibration routines required, as well as procedures for on-site
services and Database management.

-
Coordinating with CMS Field Service
Representatives and CMS Account Management team to resolve service calls issues
in a timely manner.

-
Clear, concise, and professional communication
with customer and in-house personnel, verbally and in writing.

-
Ensuring expenditure protocol is followed
and expense reports are submitted in a timely manner.

-
Completing database updates and
installation paperwork in a timely manner.

Qualifications and requirements

-
Instrumentation
and Electrical background, 120VAC and low voltage, analog and digital
communication, installation and troubleshooting.

-
Mechanical
aptitude for installations, mounting equipment, plumbing, conduit, tubing in
PVC, SS, some copper.

-
Fundamental computer programming basics,
Boolean and comparative logic.

-
Strong technical, mathematical and
customer service skills. Cognitive and clear communication skills to
efficiently support the service process internally and to end customer.

-
Responsible
for complying with all safety, health, environmental policies and procedures
relevant to the position

-
Ability
to work in multiple environments, indoor/outdoor in variety of industries,
including Class 1 div 2 hazard classifications.

-
Technical
degree/diploma in Electrical, Electronic Technology, Mechanical Engineering or
other technical discipline

-
Minimum of 2-5 years of plant
maintenance-operator experience, OR at least 2 years of relevant training
(college, military, technical/vocational school).

-
General
knowledge of electrical equipment, chemistry and safety. Vision, manual
dexterity and coordination sufficient to service instruments and handle
electrical equipment. Ability to learn applicable company procedures within a
reasonable time from start of employment.

-
Willing to travel 50% or more.

-
Ability to manage multiple priorities.

-
Self-motivated, ability to drive projects
to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving
ability with an unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments

Proven ability to speak effectively before
groups and customers, clients, and other employees within the organization.

Strong verbal and written communication
skills

Computer
proficiency is required with minimum word processing and spreadsheets, and
basic data base knowledge.

Desirable qualifications

Familiarity of digital communications
including MODBUS, OPC, ProfiNet, networking, cellular communications.

Ability to communicate effectively and
contribute to team projects in a sales environment via strong technical support.

Understanding of Water Treatment
processes, controls and programming, and chemical applications

Ability to make good business decisions
based on risk reward analysis and GE's business objectives

Ability to manage multiple priorities and
coordinate workload effectively.
