Job description

Stone Ventures is a private equity investor based in Worcester. It invests in a wide range of small and medium size businesses in the UK. The company wishes to conduct a strategic review of the market in which one of its investment portfolio companies operate and have created a 6 month intern role to assist with this project.

The successful candidate will conduct a strategic view of two separate elements of the market in which the portfolio company operates. In addition, there will be an element of analysis of internal data and working with the management team to identify key trends and to further investigate these to draw conclusions surrounding the company’s position.

The strategic market positioning work will involve an in depth review of the European target market, including market dimensions, strategic competitors, competitor activity, etc.

The internal analysis will focus on customer demographics, trend analysis of different customer segments and cross referencing across product purchases, etc.

Desired profile

Stone Ventures is looking for a highly capable individual either studying for or already gained an MBA. An understanding of the leisure/travel sector and European market dynamics would be advantageous. Ability to work in the confines of a confidential project, reporting directly to Stone Ventures and the Portfolio Chief Executive.

A strength in research and statistical analysis is key. Strong data manipulation skills as well as the ability to interpret data trends in both a macro and micro environment is required.
