Job Description
STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit Manufacturing Shift Engineer within the Assembly Department.
The job involves the shift management of the production line to attain production targets at the required level of quality and cycle time and cost effectiveness, whilst ensuring discipline and procedures are adhered to plan. The role required to lead in manning the Collaborative Control Room and executing Real Time Dispatcher.
The job holder shall work on a 4 Shift pattern, consisting of Day (06:00 till 18:00) , Night (18:00 till 06:00) , Rest and Off , including weekends and Public Holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Submitting H&S accident reports, following procedures and identifying Safety Hazards.
· Maintaining discipline and order on the line and providing feedback to management on any infringements of regulations.
· Executing the action plan as defined by the Shift Manufacturing Manager.
· Monitoring, controlling and recognizing the operators` performance.
· Highlighting any lack of resources and training needs.
· Implementing training plans as may be needed.
· Monitoring and highlighting progress of new recruits to guarantee smooth integration within the team.
· Leading the Daily Shift Briefing and carrying out one to one communication with operators and technicians as required.
· Delivering One Point Lessons (OPL) to the shift team.
· Performing daily Gemba on the areas of responsibility focusing on 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) Anti Mixing and H&S.
· Taking immediate actions during shift to close off any issues related to safety and housekeeping.
· Leading the shift Manufacturing Cells.
· Ensuring correct cause codes are entered by operators and /or technicians.
· Maximizing Machine Bottleneck output whilst ensuring that the equipment is utilized to the best possible level.
· Executing shift production targets: FIFO (First In First Out) / Lean Dashboards / Plasma Expiry Dashboards, Interface with Control Room.
· Executing the project action plan within the area of responsibility.
Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall:
· Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sciences, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. (STEM).
· Be computer literate and possess good knowledge of Factory Works, EMCS and O365 applications.
· Have proven ability of leadership skills and be disciplined.
· Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Be a good team player and flexible to adapt to different situations.
· Be able to take decisions following continuous inputs.
· Be mature, smart and goal oriented.
· Have the ability to apply Collaborative Control Room (CCR) and Real Time Dispatcher (RTD) and future automation.
· Possess some understanding of basic product application.
· Be able to understand basic product application.
· Possess analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
· Have some knowledge on 8D, DMAIC, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, Line balancing.
· Experience in a similar position will be considered as an asset.
