Job Summary
The Equipment Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and stability of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role supports daily fab operations, equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain process stability, product quality, and efficient industrialization.
Key Responsibilities
· Monitor equipment performance and analyze process and tool data to identify abnormalities, root causes, and corrective actions.
· Lead equipment troubleshooting, excursion response, and out-of-control (OOC) reduction activities.
· Support defect and excursion investigations, including escalation of critical issues and material review activities when required.
· Collaborate with process, quality, production, device, and cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance and line stability.
· Support technology transfer and industrialization activities to ensure smooth equipment setup and process deployment.
· Set up, optimize, and maintain equipment monitoring systems, automation solutions, and defect-related databases or libraries.
· Participate in advanced monitoring and analytics initiatives involving AI, CNN, deep learning, and data-driven problem solving.
Skills and Competencies
· Degree in Material Science, Electrical/Electronics, Microelectronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
· Preferably 3 or more years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication; fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
· Good understanding of semiconductor fab processes and equipment-related defectivity control.
· Familiarity with SPC concepts and problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, SPACE, and data mining.
· Experience with tools such as Klarity Defects, AceXP, Spotfire, or similar applications is an advantage.
· Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proactive, self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
