Company background
This role is with a social enterprise that specialises in developing safer, more efficient healthcare systems that deliver improved health outcomes for patients. It’s a small company consisting of the Managing Director, and 4 Associates, who have first-hand experience of front-line healthcare delivery as well as a thorough understanding of management and procurement roles

Project details
In a combination of home and office working, your role will be to provide practical 'hands on’ marketing input to publicise their Conference in Bristol on 16th October. Daily tasks will include the following:
1) Desktop Research of public health related companies, institutions and associations whose members or employees meet the delegate profile
2) Following up existing contacts via telephone and email, to sell places and sponsorships at the conference
3) Finding out about and arranging incentives to attend, e.g. CPD points
4) Compiling and communicating the Delegate list on the Delegate and Sponsor spreadsheet, including keeping track of invited guests
5) Monitoring delegate numbers and feedback from the Eventbrite website
6) Co-ordinating Press Releases and preparing Press Packs for the Event
7) Coordinating and compiling an on-line conference resource
8) Compiling a Speaker, and Press & Media spreadsheet
9) Providing administrative support to prepare for and at the Event
10) Being part of the event team on the day
11) Help to support the Twitter Account, LinkedIn and web site pages for the event
12) Updating the event resources following the conference and helping follow up on queries / outstanding areas
You will be supported directly by the MD, who will bring you up to speed on the contacts and their history, to enable you to effectively market this event.
Development Focus
This will be an 8 week internship in which you will gain an insight into healthcare, from all angles. You will have:

Skills Required
This role would ideally suit a Marketing & PR or Business Studies Graduate with an interest in Conference & Event Management. You must be available to start in the next 2 weeks in order to be ready for the event.
For this internship you will need to demonstrate:
• Great communication skills with an engaging manner
• Sales and Marketing knowledge, with great oral and written skills
• Skills in Excel with the ability to manage large amounts of contact information
• Organised and efficient, capable of managing your own diary and communications
• Ability to work independently and with confidence - your time may involve some remote working and visits outside of Cornwall
• Creative and positive, showing resilience and consistency when given a challenge
• Previous interest or knowledge in public health and NHS related issues, and able to approach these diplomatically
• Ability to learn quickly and absorb the core values of the project
