Job Description

About Pasqal

PASQAL designs and develops Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) and associated software tools.
Our innovative technology enables us to address use cases that are currently beyond the reach of the most powerful supercomputers; these cases can concern industrial application challenges as well as fundamental science needs.
In addition to the exceptional computing power they provide, QPUs are highly energy efficient and will contribute to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the HPC industry.

Massy, Paris or Amsterdam on-site position ; remote work negotiableto up to 2 days a week.

PASQAL is growing their team of talented individuals currently working on relevant, real-world, industrial quantum computing applications. Partnering with our external clients and collaborators, we develop quantum algorithms to solve challenging problems in a wide variety of industries.

As a Technical Project Delivery Manager , you will manage several projects aimed at developing quantum applications. You will join our project management team and report to our Vice President Project Management. There will be no direct reports in this role. The work will be based on site in our Paris (preferred) or Amsterdam offices (remote/hybrid option negotiable up to 2 days per week).

You will work among top scientists and developers in the quantum industry. You will also work with our full-stack quantum team in France to coordinate running of applications on PASQAL’s quantum hardware.

You will have the opportunity to travel between the 2 sites (typically 6-10 times per year) and to attend conferences and exhibitions.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

·  Manage several concurrent projects aiming at developing custom quantum computing solutions : either for clients to investigate the potential of quantum computing for their business use cases or as part of grant projects. You will ensure that project milestones are met and customer/partner satisfaction is reached. Project topics include primarily algorithm R&D in the domains of differential equation solving, graph machine learning, optimization and quantum simulation. Your focus will be on systematic project management, rather than scientific supervision. You will work alongside scientific research leads who supervise the projects from quantum computing technical perspective.
·  Ensure alignment of project progress with contractual obligations, guarding timelines and managing deliverables, being the point of contact for the customer during the project; alignment of project direction with PASQAL's strategy and budget throughout its lifetime; administrative tasks; billing notifications; and more.
·  Participate to the development of a project management culture, proposing and validating practices, tools and methodology to the team of project managers and disseminating these within Pasqal.
·  Support business development efforts by participating in technical presentations and preparatory discussions for new client project leads, including matters of IP and workload.

We'll provide training with technical experts as you get introduced to the company, algorithm portfolio and hardware specifics.

It is essential you have prior experience with technical project management in IT or industrial scientific/R&D sectors. Having a thorough understanding and experience in quantum mechanics and/or quantum machine learning is a plus.

What you will need to be successful in this role coming in:

·  Proven experience in technical project management with project supervision in a team setting with 1-5 members per project
·  3+ years of professional work experience (academic or private sector) in Quantum, industrial research, and/or Machine Learning/AI technology (applied mathematics, computational physics, computational research, Quantum machine learning, etc.)
·  MSc or MEng in a technical field (physics, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics etc.)
·  Experience working in an agile organization.
·  Excellent writing and presentation skills in an external customer facing role.
·  A strong team player and a sound communicator with an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
·  Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
·  English: written and oral fluency is required. French is a plus.

Really nice to have:

·  Quantum computing industrial or academic experience
·  Software project supervision, development
·  Experience working in a scale-up environment

Building on over 40 years of academic research, co-founded by Alain Aspect one of the 2022 Nobel Laureates in Physics, PASQAL is on track to commercialize a 1000-qubit quantum processor with scalable neutral atom technology and industrially relevant application development in a full-stack setup.

This makes PASQAL one of the world-class key players in this quantum race. Will you join us?
