Build the foundation of Hivebrite’s AI-powered, API-first platform — and help scale communities driving change worldwide

As a Senior Engineer, your work will directly support these communities by making their digital spaces faster, smarter, and more impactful.

 Your Role

You’ll work across product and platform initiatives to:

·  Design and build scalable backend services using Ruby, Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or Golang
·  Lead the decomposition of our monolith into modular, service-oriented components
·  Drive performance and reliability improvements , leveraging async queues, caching strategies, and data modeling
·  Implement AI-powered features (personalization, automation, recommendations) in collaboration with Product and Data teams
·  Elevate our internal developer experience , integrating AI tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and streamlining CI/CD workflows
·  Engineer robust integrations with third-party APIs, webhooks, and event-driven systems
·  Champion technical excellence across testing, observability, and system design
·  Shape the technical vision , actively contributing to architecture reviews and long-term platform strategy

 About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and has a strong engineering backbone:

·  Proficient in on of these stacks Ruby, Python , Node.js/TypeScript, Golang
·  Track record of building high-scale backend systems (millions of users, high throughput, distributed architecture)
·  Experience with service extraction and API-first designs
·  Solid grasp of distributed systems , async processing, observability, and modern caching strategies
·  Interest or hands-on experience with AI/ML applications in product or engineering contexts
·  Familiar with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), and modern DevOps tooling
·  Collaborative, thoughtful communicator who enjoys leading cross-functional technical efforts
·  Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Recruitment Process

·  Meet Ruben, our Tech Recruiter, for a first video-call to better understand your career plan and answer any of your questions (60 mins).
·  Meeting with Samy (Engineering Manager) and Valentin (Software Engineer) to discuss performance issues, product-driven approach and some RoR patterns (60 mins).
·  Meet 2 Senior Backend Engineers to discuss around a technical architecture review exercise (60 mins).
