Job description

About

Neurobus is at the forefront of merging artificial intelligence and neuroscience with space technology. We are dedicated to revolutionizing satellite data processing by developing low-power advanced onboard AI systems. Our mission is to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of satellites to make them autonomous for space operations.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Hardware Engineer specializing in the development of a payload for small satellites, which includes camera sensors, as well as AI accelerators. This role requires a blend of expertise in miniaturization, radiation-hardened design, thermal management, power efficiency, and robust data handling. The engineer will be a part of a dynamic team, working in a fast-paced startup environment where agile development methodologies are embraced. The successful candidate will drive the development from concept through testing and integration, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and operational reliability in space environments.

This opportunity is available as an internship, apprenticeship, or a permanent position, depending on the candidate's profile.

Preferred Experience

Key Responsibilities

·
Develop and optimize a miniaturized AI payload system within strict size, weight, and power constraints of small satellites.

·
Select and integrate radiation-hardened or tolerant components to ensure payload reliability in high-radiation space environments.

·
Design and implement effective thermal management solutions to maintain operational temperatures of AI accelerators in extreme space conditions.

·
Ensure robust data handling capabilities, including high data throughput and storage, integrated with error correction techniques.

·
Collaborate with software teams to ensure hardware-software compatibility, particularly with AI algorithms, operating systems, and middleware.

·
Provide input for a thorough testing plan, including vibration, thermal vacuum, and radiation exposure, to qualify the payload for space missions.

·
Work with satellite payload integrators to align the AI accelerator payload with the satellite platform and launch vehicle specifications.

·
Implement fail-safe and redundancy mechanisms to maintain payload functionality in case of component failures.

Relevant experience

·
A Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.

·
Proven experience in hardware design and development, particularly in the aerospace industry.

·
Experience with AI accelerators and high-performance computing hardware.

What We Offer

·
A dynamic role at the cutting edge of space and AI technologies.

·
The opportunity to be part of a passionate and innovative team.

·
Competitive compensation and benefits package.

·
A supportive environment that fosters professional growth and development.
