what does an analyst do?

Perform complex analyses for our clients both from our office and on client sites

Provide high quality reporting to clients and State of Flux management

Work with our consultants to provide support and research on assigned projects
Key responsibilities:

To act as a bridge between State of Flux and the client, translating their business's requirements into a form that can be understood by all parties.

To work with an experienced consultant or on a stand-alone basis, to help develop models, perform complex analyses, and work on research assignments at both the office and/or client sites.

To initiate and influence enterprise-wide business process analysis.

To understand business change and help clients achieve change within their remit

Provide a high quality of reporting to clients and to management.

Salary package
£25,000 - £35,000 pa
Skills, qualifications and experience needed:
Education:
An undergraduate degree is essential and ideally you will have a Masters degree or MBA with a focus on supply chain/procurement.
Work experience:
Previous deal experience is strongly desirable as is experience of working on post deal integration projects. Having worked previously as an analyst in one of the strategy houses, a Big Four consultancy or in a niche consultancy would be an advantage. You will ideally have clear, demonstrable experience of business development and winning work. A background in business support services and experience of tenders would also be useful.
Computer skills:
Must be proficient in use of MS Office 2010 or later, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, and Outlook.
Specific Job Skills:

Understand the principles of consulting, analysing, cost-effectiveness, project management, planning and training.

Appreciate the need for consistency within company's broad spectrum of services.

Experience in supply chain/procurement department a benefit
Literacy and Numeracy:
-
Able to communicate via written media and must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator.

Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g. gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc.

Must be a competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals.
Management ability:
Although internal staff management is not initially part of the job, responsibility and opportunity could grow with the development of the business. People-management skills, experience and natural ability required. Be able to think in wider business rather than narrow terms.
