About the Role
The Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI) is a global ‘Coalition for Action’ putting policy into comprised of multiple organizations committed to establishing a fair, responsible and sustainable mica supply chain that will eliminate unacceptable working conditions and eradicate child labor.
The Responsible Mica Initiative is currently seeking a motivated intern to support our work on traceability systems, due diligence, and responsible sourcing within global mica supply chains.
This hands-on internship offers direct exposure to real-world sustainability challenges in complex international supply chains. The intern will work closely with multinational member companies and industry stakeholders to strengthen supply chain transparency and responsible purchasing practices.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct research on upstream (“first-mile”) mica traceability systems and assess approaches in complex sourcing contexts
· Contribute to the development and strengthening of traceability and due diligence frameworks
· Support engagement with multinational members to enhance supply chain traceability efforts and responsible sourcing initiatives
· Transform members' data into clear, actionable insights and reports for member companies
· Contribute to the design and implementation of a supplier survey on responsible purchasing practices
This is a fully remote position requiring autonomy, proactivity, and strong organizational skills.
Profile
· Master’s student or recent graduate in sustainability, human rights, mining, supply chain management, international development, business, public policy, or a related field
· Strong understanding of responsible sourcing and human rights due diligence in global supply chains
· Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (both required)
· Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote, international environment
