Assistant Psychologist Band 4    

  • Salary: £18,089 - £22,682 per annum

  • Plus St Andrew’s Healthcare Clinical Allowance of £683.00 per annum

  • Hours: Full-time 37.5 per week

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to work in the Learning Disability pathway which supports adults with neurodevelopmental disorders and complex mental health and forensic care needs. The pathway has a well-established psycho social treatment programme including a DBT service and neurodevelopmental disorder assessment clinic. The psychology team plays a key role in service delivery and regularly publishes and presents positive clinical outcomes at national and international conferences.

    The successful applicant will join an existing team of trained Clinical and Forensic Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and placement students. Duties are varied, but will include assisting trained Psychologists in psychological and behavioural assessments of patient needs, offering group and individual therapy sessions based on CBT, compassionate mind and psych educational models, maintaining a research databases, carrying out clinical audits, delivering staff training and assisting with functional analyses of behaviour.

    Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in psychology, and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society. Applicants must have either previous experience of working within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical setting or a relevant post graduate qualification.  Applicants should be computer literate and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
