We are currently looking for a Wayleave Officer to join our Strategic Investment team based in Reading. As part of the role you will be responsible for the acquisition and management of wayleave consents and operational properties enabling the group to achieve its construction and maintenance programmes. You will also will negotiate and manage the wayleave process, actively maintaining excellent relationships with land owners, statutory and non statutory bodies, group staff and contractors. Due to the nature of the role your duties will involve both office and site work, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have proven negotiation skills and a working knowledge of wayleave procedures. You could have experience of obtaining land rights through overseeing the completion of legal matters or you could have worked as a land agent / surveyor thus having a good working knowledge of agricultural matters. Alternatively, you will have the potential to gain this knowledge.

Having excellent interpersonal skills, you will be capable of building lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels, with the ideal candidate having had exposure to this within a project based environment. As a result of this, you will have first class verbal and written communication skills, being able to convey your position in a clear and concise manner. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work quickly, accurately and independently whilst under pressure to highly detailed briefs.
