Salary: £21,282 to £25,882 depending on skills and experience

As part of the SSE Group, Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) owns one electricity transmission network and two electricity distribution networks, comprising 106,000 substations and 130,000 km of overhead lines and underground cables across one third of the UK.

To ensure the networks continue to run effectively, we are looking to recruit a Tree Cutter into our existing team based in Fort William and providing services across the North West of Scotland. Working as part of a team you will be responsible for clearing vegetation from our overhead network. Depending on authorisations you will be required to carry out tasks in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with our procedures.

To be successful you will have previous experience of the tree cutting industry and hold a minimum NPTC CS31 (Fell small trees up to 380mm in diameter). Tree climbing and Utility Arb qualifications would be helpful but not essential as training would be given depending on experience.

This role can be demanding as you will be involved in all aspects of electricity overhead line work which involves working outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be required to work at various sites which will entail the occasional staying away from home. You will also be required to travel at short notice for fault restoration work therefore flexibility is a must. As a result of this, a full driving licence is essential.

We offer attractive rates of pay for suitable and experienced candidates and the normal working week is 45 hours over five days, Monday to Friday.
