SALARY £23,769 - £31,395 (DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE)

SSE Power Distribution is part of the SSE group which owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising of some 123,000 substations and 127,000 kilometres of underground cables and overhead lines and delivers power to 30% of the UK's landmass, serving 3.5 Million customers.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Rapid Response Operative to join our team based in the Aldershot Depot.

The role of the Rapid Response Operative is to carry out the initial fault restoration/identification work to restore electricity supplies to customers. You'll be involved in all aspects of electricity no supply calls. The role may be physically demanding and will involve working outdoors across the area and in all weather conditions. You will be working unsupervised and will need to adhere to the highest safety standards at all times. In addition, you should also have the ability to suggest innovative and effective business improvements.

To be successful in this role, you should have a good working knowledge of Electrical Distribution network and excellent organisational skills. You'll ideally have the training and competency to HV switch, on both overhead and underground equipment and replace HV fuses. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a real passion for providing exceptional levels of customer service. Knowledge of SIMS and the fault restoration management process would be beneficial. A full UK drivers licence is essential and applicants should be aware that there is a standby commitment in this role requiring some out of hours working.

Successful candidates will be required to operate with both safety and customer service as their highest priorities and be committed to raising the profile of the Depot and the Broad Measure scores.
