Salary £23,873 plus excellent benefits (depending on skills and experience)

SSE operates the largest Street Lighting Contracting business in the UK, maintaining in excess of 1 million lighting units and street furniture. We are currently looking for qualified electricians to join our Street Lighting team in West Sussex.

This role involves the installation of a range of street and highway lighting apparatus and all related maintenance works, including full electrical testing, disconnecting, repairing and/or replacing old/faulty equipment and recording all necessary paperwork.

As a Street Lighting Electrician, you'll maintain the network and install all electrical equipment, such as street lighting columns, bollards, signs and feeder pillars, including all associated wiring. The role will also include basic testing and inspection to BS767, fault finding on private networks, excavation and reinstatement in multiple surface types to current NRSWA standards.

You will be expected to carry out the safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role and work a safe manner and in accordance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.

You will have completed a registered apprenticeship (or undergone some equivalent method of training) and have had adequate practical training in electrical installation and/or servicing & maintenance work.

You'll hold City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent) and must have obtained an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and/or servicing & maintenance Work (or approved equivalent).

The following certificates will also be beneficial: G39, IPAF & MEWP, CSCS/ECS, NRSWA.

Experience of working within a team and individually is vital, as well as good communication and organisational skills. It would also be advantageous if you had good knowledge of the local road network and layout.

Driving licence is essential to Cat C1 (HGV preferable).

You will also be required to cover out of hours call out as part of a rota basis.
