GENERATION TRAINING MANAGER
PERTH
SALARY CIRCA £52,000 (DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE)
SSE is one of the largest and most diverse Energy companies in the UK and Ireland with around 9 million customers and over 19,000 staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Generation Training Manager in Perth.
Reporting directly to the Technical Training Manager, you will manage expectations with our Stakeholders as well as engaging and communicating with them to ensure effective management of Generation Training programmes. You will be responsible for the meeting of business requirements in accordance with technical, safety, environment and company standards.
You will promote and develop the SSE safety culture, attitudes and behaviours across each of our training programmes and ensure all training courses adopt and adhere to our safety culture aswell as conducting the required level of H & S audits within our facilities. You will drive the efficiency and performance of the Training team where applicable, around setting targets and providing feedback to our businesses and you will play a lead role in the gathering of information and evidence on each of our training programmes around their performance and progress.
Your responsibilities will extend to staying informed as to relevant skills and qualification levels required by staff for effective performance and circulate requirements and relevant information to the organisation as appropriate. You will manage the training budget for your area of responsibility and manage your staff effectively in line with the Performance Management cycle.
You will manage calibration sessions within your team to ensure a uniformed delivery approach and manage a Quality Improvement Plan for your area. You will monitor and report on activities, costs and performance when required and you will select and manage external training providers and accredited bodies to deliver required training. You will continually improve and driver the performance of our trainings and implement change for the good of the team and the programme that we deliver.
You will understand the needs of the business to ensure legal compliance training is delivered cost effectively and ensure the evaluation feedback process is implemented. You will validate training documentation and paperwork completed by those under your supervision and work with our sectors skills council and awarding bodies to ensure we are keeping abreast of all changes within the sector.
To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of SSE business goals and it's programme values and objectives. You should have excellent project and stakeholder management skills and have excellent communication skills.
You should have experience of managing a team and working alongside multiple departments and be a logical thinker with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads. You should have the ability to work under pressure and have an open and approachable management style. You should be able to work as an individual and team player and have the ability to build relationships with internal and external partners.
