PERTH

SALARY £20,182 TO £26,653 (DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE)

SSE is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK. Our core purpose is to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Document Controller in Perth.

You will be responsible for the management and control of project / business documents and records and ensuring that the Project Teams operate in accordance with set processes and procedures.

You will work with the Project Teams to maximise on the benefit of overall team skills and ensure that a resilient service is provided to the projects.

Your responsibilities will extend to guiding colleagues undertaking document control tasks and assist with their development through coaching, mentoring and training. You will co-ordinate the Document Control activity on the projects and where necessary request any resources, skills and facilities that are required to ensure the quality of records. You will also carry out administration duties relevant to the role.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate a high level awareness of the technical competencies in your team's area of responsibility and show a good level of understanding of SSE's Major Project business areas and the Energy industry gained from past experience as well as through social and professional networking. You should bring a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to all aspects of the role.

You should have a solid understanding of the business needs that drive the business areas activities and be comfortable in working in a matrix management environment. You will have excellent organisational, written and oral communication skills and demonstrate a good level of computer skills, in particular with Microsoft Office, Livelink, Windows Explorer, PAFEC, EDM and Notes. You should be able to interact at all levels of the project team and be able to influence and motivate others.

Experience of managing a document management system, an understanding of the safety and environmental aspects of multi disciplined projects and being able to coach, mentor and provide training in both document control processes and applications are essential for this role. Experience of working within a Project environment is desirable.
