DISTRIBUTION CONTROL CENTRE PERTH
£37,588 - £49,645 SALARY DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) is part of the SSE Group, which is responsible for keeping the lights on to more than 3.75 million UK homes and businesses. If something unexpected causes a power cut in our regions, it is our job to fix it as quickly and as safely as possible.
Our Distribution Control Centre (DCC) North is responsible for the management and control of SSEPD's High Voltage Distribution Network. Due to our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable person to train and become Authorised as a Distribution Control Engineer, joining our team in Perth.
As a Distribution Control Engineer you will train to become a Control Engineer operating on the Distribution Network up to and including 33kV. You will be a decisive, well organised individual and a strong team player who can also work independently and who will relish a fresh challenge.
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience as engineer within a distribution network operator qualified with a minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering. In addition you will have a depth of field experience to SAP level or working towards SAP level. The role attracts SSE Grade 8 salary with real opportunities for further career progression to a higher Grade Shift Role operating on the Distribution Network.
The training we will provide will be comprehensive and will develop your field experience allowing you to become a competent operator of our Distribution Network throughout the North of Scotland. It will cover both operational and technical aspects of the job as a Control Engineer.
