JOB LOCATION: PORTSMOUTH - SOUTH EAST REGION

£23,349 to £30,840 (SSE4) DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

As part of the SSE Group, Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) owns one electricity transmission network and two electricity distribution networks, comprising 106,000 substations and 130,000 km of overhead lines and underground cables across one third of the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Connections Quoter in to the Portsmouth Depot and providing services across the South East Region which includes Hampshire, Isle of White and East Hampshire. The Connection team within SSE Power Distribution, is responsible for meeting customer's needs in respect of connection to the electricity network, including single homes, housing developments, industrial developments, generation developments and independent distribution networks.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring Guaranteed Standards are met when providing quotations for new connections for customers. Your role in particular will be to provide customers with designs and quotations for connections to our distribution network. The design work will predominantly be for small scale development, ranging from existing service alterations to approximately twenty connections. The timescales associated with producing quotations are regulated and therefore must be produced and issued to customers within the Guaranteed Standard timescales. The designs must be compliant with all appropriate rules and regulations, meet all engineering specifications and financially accurate.

To be successful in this role you will have a good working knowledge of electricity distribution and Power Systems networks. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, being comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels (both internal and external). You will be numerate with a high degree of accuracy and be confident in producing high quality work to deadlines. You will be I.T. literate being comfortable with Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Office. Knowledge of PROMIS and GIS & SIMS would be highly advantageous, however training will be provided.
