Sports Journalism Intern

Job description

Sportsvibe (www.sportsvibe.co.uk) is the ‘home of sports entertainment’ on the web and one of the UK’s leading, most respected sports websites – with a million monthly visitors. We are currently seeking sports journalism students or graduates to join our industry leading internship programme which involves supervised writing of news and articles, face-to-face and telephone interviews with top sports stars; covering press conferences and events and also video and television production. If successful you will work alongside one of the UK’s top sports journalists, writers and broadcasters.

90% of the graduates from our 3 or 6 month internships immediately secure full time positions in sports journalism or in the sports industry – on newspapers, websites, in agencies or in TV and radio.

We are based by London Bridge and ideally candidates should be based in or around London. The position is initially unpaid but we do cover travel and expenses.

Desired profile

You must be:
- A highly proficient writer with a passion for sport - ideally with a journalistic qualification
- currently living in the UK & entitled to work here (London only)
- proficient in spoken and written English
- a good, confident communicator
- ready to begin immediately
- be prepared to be fully involved from day one and have enthusiasm and a willingness to work hard and learn fast
