Job Introduction
The NSCRC is looking to recruit to the below positions within the Community Payback Unit responsible for the delivery of Unpaid Work. While on Unpaid work groups of offenders work on a wide range of projects that benefit the community, such as environmental conservation, decorating and renovating buildings and recycling. The details are as follows and the job description, person specification and application form are attached:
Role Responsibility
Applications are invited from candidates able to demonstrate evidence of:
· Supervise offenders undertaking work in the community,
· Motivate and encourage groups of offenders to engage in physically demanding practical work,
· Safely deal with group dynamics and maintain control of offenders under Supervision,
· Maintain a healthy, safe working environment by identifying, managing and preventing hazards on worksites,
· Maximise opportunities for offenders to learn problem solving skills and pro-social attitudes.
A current D1 and D1+E driving licence is essential for all roles.
Location: There are nine posts available as per the below locations and also sessional opportunities available.
Norwich
· Saturday/Sunday/Monday & Tuesday, 4 x 9.25 hours = 37 Hours
· Saturday/Sunday/Wednesday 3 x 9.25 hours = 27.75 hours
· Wednesday 1 x 9.25 hours
· Wednesday 1 x 9.25 hours
Bury
· Saturday & Wednesday 2 x 9.25 hours
· 1 x Every other Sunday 4.625 hours p.w.
Lowestoft
· Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday. 3 x 9.25 hours
· Saturday & Wednesday 2 x 9.25 hours
· Saturday 1 x 9.25 hours
Sessional / Relief Probation Service Officers - Offender Supervisors, Community Payback
Salary : £11.42 gross per hour (weekdays) & £17.13 gross per hour (weekends), equivalent to £22,039 per annum pro rata
Hours of work: Sessional, on an ‘as and when’ basis
