SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Societe Generale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia.SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.
You will join as a trainee with Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB) and more precisely the Strategic & Acquisition Finance (SAF) department within our Global Finance branch (GLFI).
The main focus of SAF is to originate, arrange, underwrite large acquisition financing for corporate clients acquiring other companies. We are interacting a lot with the other entities of SGCIB on a worldwide basis.
You will be based in Hong Kong and work in the Strategic and Acquisition Finance team covering Asia Pacific.
Mission
Main Responsibilities:
Marketing
· Assist in the preparation of pitches and other marketing materials
· Gather information from a variety of sources on potential customers and targets (company accounts, broker notes, market reports, Bloomberg, Internet, etc.)
· Translation of pitches or materials from English to Chinese
· Analyze in details and prepare precise summary about the corporate profile (market, business, competition, organization, etc.) as well as historical audited accounts
· Assess the quantitative implications of the acquisition (financial impact, etc.) in connection with other departments of the Bank involved in the project (Syndication, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Rating Advisory, Legal, etc.)
Execution
· Prepare financial models to support the evaluation of the deal structure/debt capacity of the companies
· Handle technical, commercial, financial and legal due diligences, review reports and extract key information
· Participate in the preparation of credit applications to obtain approval to execute deals
· Perform calculations of deal profitability
Desired profile
Profile
Your Profile:
· Hold a relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar
· Have a previous experience within a bank (preferably in corporate/structured finance) will be an advantage
· Good analytical and modelling skills
· Strong attention to details and an interest for complex structuring techniques
· Ability to provide precise write-up through digestion of various materials
· Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point
· Pro-active, adaptable and reliable, you are able to deliver with accuracy within short time frame
· Good communication skills with sense of cooperation
· Full professional proficiency in English and Mandarin (both spoken and written) are mandatory, with another Asian language would be of interest
This is a fixed term 12 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
