Mission

Description of the Business Line or Department

Intern position within the Structuring and Business Development team of Societe Generale's in London.

The focus of the structurer trainee will be on either of (depending on relevant needs at the time):
- Societe Generale's retail distribution business (BtC)
- delta one and prime brokerage units of Societe Generale Group
Noting that but the position may be further extended to other SG Global Markets businesses.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

Trainee position within the Structuring and Business Development team of Societe Generale's in Europe.

The trainee will assist the team by participating in:
- For Societe Generale's listed products:
o The execution and delivery of projects aiming to enhance the efficiency of SG distribution platform, including without limitation listed products.
o Various technical and competitive studies on the listed products markets
- For Societe Generale delta one and prime brokerage units:
o The execution and delivery of projects aiming to enhance the efficiency of the platform
o The review of certain businesses and processes within Societe Generale prime brokerage business

Summary of responsibilities

The trainee's responsibilities may include, without limitation, the following:
- For Societe Generale's distribution business:
o Draft legal documentation (final terms, term sheets, issuance programmes)
o Participate in project meetings and assist in the execution of development projects
o Prepare and provide market and competitive analysis, including study of product features and structures
o Prepare end of month activity reports for management
o Assist to document (by way of desk procedures) and automate certain recurrent tasks of the team with a view of moving them into production teams
- For Societe Generale's delta one and prime brokerage units:
o Assist the team in the review of certain existing businesses and processes
o Participate in project meetings and assist in the execution of development projects
o Prepare end of month activity reports for management
o Assist to document (by way of desk procedures) and automate certain recurrent tasks of the team with a view of moving them into production teams
- For both businesses: coordinate with other teams within Societe Generale in order to ensure smooth execution and delivery

This role is particularly suited to an independent, result oriented individual with a “can-do” attitude, and who wishes to learn about the organisation of the Global Markets division of the bank as well as its product and service offering.

- Mathematical, engineering, finance, business and/or legal/regulatory training

Work Experience

• No prior experience required

Education

• Strong academic record within Engineering, Finance or Law with a strong interest in financial instruments.

• Fluent French
