At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Global Markets division (MARK) of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. MARK offers a cross-asset approach along all its offerings : Research, Investment & Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Prime Services to asset managers, pension funds, companies, private banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, family offices, sovereign funds and distributors worldwide.
Mission
Your role
The team is based in New York (three traders, one quantitative index analyst) and Paris (two traders) and is in charge of commodity index trading.
You will work with the trading team and index engineers on developing, implementing and maintaining systematic investment strategies on commodity futures and options.
Coding, solving financial and technical problems and understand complex financial concepts are going to be the main component of your role.
You daily tasks will include :
- Understanding and reviewing complex sets of rules and documents that define systematic commodity strategies.
- Coding in Python to implement those financial models and automate tasks
- Continuously interact with traders, engineers and sales persons to help implementing trades with the bank's clients.

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New-York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

Your profile
Master's degree in Financial Engineering or Computer Science is preferred, but not mandatory.
You are excellent at problem solving and have great programming skills.
Experience with Python is a plus.
Your are fluent in English and have excellent communication skills.
