DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Inspection and Audit Division (DCPE) represents the independent audit function within Societe Generale (SG) Group.

The SG Americas Internal Audit Department is a group of about 50 professionals, based in the US (New York, Chicago) and in Brazil.The Department is responsible for auditing all of SG's businesses and related support functions in the Americas region, including the USA, Canada, Brazil and Mexico:

·  Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS). GBIS offers solutions for its clients by capitalizing on its worldwide expertise in corporate & investment banking, private banking, and asset management. For the Americas region, GBIS is headquartered in New York with a significant presence in Chicago. In the Americas, GBIS is primarily focused on corporate & investment banking:
·  MARK - Global Markets ( equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities, prime brokerage ).
·  LYXOR – Asset management and advisory solutions, in all asset classes, to investors .
·  CORI & GLFI - Global Finance offer global advisory and coverage to clients, and structured finance and capital raising solutions.
·  International Banking and Financing Services (IBFS). IBFS offers services to its clients in the US (New York), Brazil (Sao Paulo) and Mexico (Mexico City) including equipment and vehicle finance.
·  Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS). GTPS provides correspondent banking and cash management services in the US and Trade Finance services in Brazil.

The SG Americas Internal Audit Departmentis organized into four business and information technology teams – Market Activities & Investment Management (“MARK”); Credit & Transversal Functions; Latin America; and IS/IT Audit.

The Auditor role is an intermediate level auditor position within the Department. Auditors at this level are expected to have experience in audit techniques and have a broad generalist knowledge of the areas within the scope of their perimeter.

Mission

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Auditor will be part of the Market Activities (MARK) Audit Team that is responsible for auditing sales and trading desk activities across all asset classes includingFixed Income & Currencies (Rates, Credit, FX); Equities & Equity Derivatives (Listed and OTC); Commodities (Oil, Natural Gas, Metals); Structured Products; and the Treasury functions (funding, repos, equity finance).The audits include reviews of front, middle and back office support functions, product control, accounting, risk management, IT, legal, compliance, etc.

The Auditor is expected to participate in audits across various business lines and support functions within the Americas region,however, they also may be called upon to act as Head of Mission on smaller/less complex assignments. The Auditor's primary responsibilities will be to work independently and take responsibility for completion of assigned tasks, meet budgets and deadlines, and be able to manage relationships with auditees and audit counterparts during all stages of the audit assignment, with a focus on:

·  Actively participating in all stages of the audit: diagnostic, testing, report drafting, and exit meeting;
·  Analyzing assigned business processes, procedures, risks and evaluating the internal controls, and adopting a risk-based approach;
·  Preparing clear work papers that support the work performed and conclusions;
·  Assist in drafting clear and concise audit findings to bring any concerns to management's attention,
·  Drafting audit reports with some supervisory guidance when acting as Head of Mission.
·  Timely tracking and following up on open audit and regulatory issues with the accountable parties, and escalate to management when required;
·  Assisting in and playing a proactive role with special projects.

Candidates must have the ability to travel for periods of 1-3 weeks when required (USA, Europe).

Evolution

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required:

·  Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in internal auditing within corporate/investment bank, or equivalent relevant positions.
EDUCATION

Required:

·  Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field

Desired:

·  Master's degree in a business discipline
·  Preferred certifications/licenses but not required: CPA, CIA, CIDA, Series 7

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

·  Demonstrate a good understanding of different trading products and activities, and the related risks (market, counterparty credit, liquidity, operational, regulatory,..) and controls.
·  Proven ability to use these skills tohelp plan or execute audits using a risk-based approach (e.g., identify key risks and control points and suggest approaches for testing/sampling).
·  Good working knowledge of accounting principles.

Desired:

·  Familiarity with Volcker Rule and other Dodd Frank requirements
·  Familiarity with broker-dealer or FCM activities
