Environment

Department Summary:
The Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) COO Team in North America supports the Trading and Sales activities of these businesses to drive various initiatives and act as a liaison between the different support groups within the bank. The COO Team acts as the sounding board for front office personnel while maintaining the control framework that has been established within the firm.

Mission

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

·  Work among 3 other Chief Operating Officers aligned with the Fixed Income and Currency businesses to support sales and trading activities related to Finance Repurchase Agreements (Repo), US Treasuries and Agencies, Emerging Markets (EM) Repo, US Rates Derivatives, Foreign Exchange and Credit.
·  Support business line heads, reporting to Head of FIC Operating Officer to facilitate business initiatives.
·  Interface with all aspects of various resource groups impacting the FIC business, including Operations, Technology, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and Risk.
·  Pursue and prioritize projects and budgets.
·  Organize business plans and track requirements in all phases of business development.
·  Work independently to review processes and propose solutions to activities requiring attention.
·  Interface with both internal and external representatives.
·  Ensure business is operating in a controlled environment and recommend remediation plans for identified weaknesses.
·  Oversee the collection and analysis of user's information technology requirements.
·  Review the day-to-day activities related to monitoring and evaluating the process workflow.
·  Perform analyses and recommend solutions.
·  Analyze risk/reward and cost/benefit.
·  Ensure appropriate communication to project sponsor, project team, technology and accounting management, and other stakeholders.
·  Communicate and coordinate with final users to agree on format and scope of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and agree on acceptance criteria with the users prior to commencing UAT.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in use of MS Office Suite
SQL knowledge a plus

Experience Needed:

The candidate must have at least 3-5 years of experience working in a global financial organization across various financial products (examples including Finance Repurchase Agreements (Repo), US Treasuries and Agencies, Emerging Markets (EM) Repo, US Rates Derivatives, Money Markets and FX Derivatives), business management and driving business initiatives.

Experience in directly interacting with business line managers and resource-type functions (including Operation, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Accounting) is a plus.




Educational Requirements:

The minimum educational requirement for this professional position is a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.




Languages: (Other than English):

Ability to speak and read French is a plus.

Licenses:

Series 7 is a plus.
