Mission

Description of the Business Line or Department - Summary of the business, coverage, services

GLFI/SYN/CAP is responsible for addressing borrowers' needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets.

The client base for SYN/CAP includes corporate borrowers, financial institutions, public sector and sovereigns, as well as non-investment grade (high yield) issuers globally.

In terms of execution, SYN/CAP's activity covers issuance of bonds of various kinds, including covered bonds, senior unsecured bonds, ABS (in the European market), private placements, hybrid capital and liability management.

Summary of the key purposes of the role - Summary of the key objectives and primary goals (minimum 3)

·  Desk Support: provide support to the Bond Syndicate desk on back and middle office issues
·  Compliance: ensure adherence to the regulatory requirements as defined by SG Compliance to comply with applicable regulations, and internal policies


Summary of responsibilities - Minimum of 6 responsibilities to be identified

·  To help the entire booking of new transactions and reconciliation of residual positions
·  Help make sure the issue is properly set up in Bondbook/Issuenet/Issuelaunch/Investor Access. Make sure once the bookbuilding is completed that the books have been cleared of dupes. Help collate hedge information when SG acts as duration manager/B&D bank. Help make sure all is set for ticketing and settlement (X-One).

·  To help in dealing with back and middle office issues, ensuring that measures are in place for faultless settlement
·  Engage and chase sales in case of unsettled tickets or contested transactions and take remedial actions.

·  To work in collaboration with middle-office P&L teams ensuring all complimentary transactions figures have been provided in order to produce an accurate P&L
·  Help make sure fees are correctly entered into SMART for payment. Check P&L and raise any anomalies with management.

·  Help to ensure that the various systems are updated in terms of risk management
·  Volcker file on a weekly basis, SMART on a daily basis.
