We are offering a fantastic development opportunity that would appeal to a university graduate who has qualified in a business or finance/accounting discipline join us as a TM1 Systems Analyst will work within the Group Finance team to support the control and maintenance of data in TM1 as part of the Group Head Office finance team. We are also keen to consider applicants who post-graduation are either employed by a large scale company or perhaps are currently working as an intern.

The role will involve reviewing group level data, and troubleshooting with finance and systems teams around the world.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·  Acting as a point of contact for data queries on the Group See Through Profit reporting system TM1.
·  Preparation of monthly management financial information from the Group See Through Profit reporting system.
·  Preparing group-level reconciliations between financial systems, and assisting with local reconciliations carried out by Smith & Nephew teams around the world.
·  Following up on data reconciliation issues on a monthly basis. Working with IT, Operations and Master Data teams to resolve reporting issues.
·  Working with the Group Finance & Data team to test changes to the Group See Through Profit system.
·  Working with the wider Head Office Reporting team on reporting numbers from the Group Reporting System as required.
·  Ad hoc assistance with finance related projects.


Knowledge Requirements:

·  Knowledge of IBM Cognos BI tool and TM1 reporting (ideal but not a requisite)
·  Experience of Cognos CAFE would be advantageous, but not a requisite

Qualifications Requirements:

·  Degree Educated
·  Smith and Nephew will offer study support to work towards becoming a qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent qualification)

Technical Competencies:

·  Ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of complex data.
·  Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel user.


Behavioural Competencies:

·  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, an inquisitive and challenging approach, and a willingness to take ownership.
