Today as a FTSE top 100 business, we have leadership positions in Sports Medicine, Trauma, Orthopaedic Reconstruction and Advanced Wound Management. Our 14,000 employees continue to improve outcomes and expand access, constantly striving to create value for healthcare professionals, patients, payers and shareholders.

We are looking for final year undergraduates, who will complete their degree in 2016 to join our 2016 graduate development programme. We are seeking applicants from a Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering discipline.

As a Graduate Engineer , you will follow an extensive 3 year development programme which will allow you to develop and gain the experience, knowledge and skills you need to progress your career. This will be achieved through training and mentoring, which will underpin the work you do on key, inspiring and challenging, projects across all of our core business areas.

During the first 2 years of your development programme, you will gain an overview of what we do, which will support you in deciding the way in which you want your career to develop. In year 3, your focus will be on your preferred area of specialism. On completion of the 3 year graduate programme, you will be in a prime position for a diverse range of exciting roles throughout Smith & Nephew.

Desired profile

You will need an undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum grade of 2:1 (or expected grade).

We offer a competitive salary, regular performance reviews, contributory pension and flexible benefits scheme.

Smith & Nephew supports healthcare professionals in their daily efforts to improve the lives of their patients. We do this by taking a pioneering approach to the design of our products and services, by striving to secure wide access to our diverse technologies for more customers globally, and by enabling better outcomes for patients and healthcare systems. We believe that this can only be achieved by establishing mutually beneficial relationships with all of our stakeholders including patients, healthcare professionals, investors and employees. If you share our passion for pioneering design and can demonstrate how you meet the criteria outlined, we would love to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is Friday 4th March. Successful applicants will be invited to attend an assessment centre at our Hull site.

Make every future a success.
