HGV Class 1 Driver-Northumberland Based Logistics Operation

Job description

A rare chance to join the in-house haulage operation of Simpsons Malt, the UK’s leading, independent Malting business, with 150+ years of profitable supply of its quality products to brewers and distillers.

This busy and growing operation, based in Berwick upon Tweed, requires drivers to drive a fleet of bulk tippers UK wide from the Highlands & Islands to Cornwall- servicing both its production and grain merchanting operations. This can therefore require over nights.

-This is currently typically based on a 40 hours a week Monday-Friday contract, but there is a requirement to work weekends and regular significant levels of overtime to deal with peaks and flows in workload and support our customers.

-The successful candidate will possess a HGV Class 1 qualification, be up to date with their CPC and have the experience and personality that suggests they will be a good representative for the business. Safety awareness both in terms of road use and when loading/unloading is a key concern for the business.
