Trading Assistant

Due to growth and expansion SIMEC Uskmouth Power Limited, part of the SIMEC Group of Companies is seeking a Trading Assistant. Based at Uskmouth Power Station, you will provide trading support to CEO and Trader.

This is an ideal role for a candidate who enjoys taking ownership, enjoys regular interaction with colleagues and outside bodies and who wish to work at the heart of a growing business.

The role offers variety and responsibility within a small and friendly team, day to day duties include

• Analysing market trends

• Entering orders for day and day ahead trading

• Monitor the companies demand for Gas and Electricity

• Submit power station notifications

• Constant dialogue with Unit operators regarding power generation

• Ability to react quickly to generation issues

• Arranging payments

• Running daily trading, financial and performance reports

• Project work

• Answer of out of hours calls from operations staff

• Work a variety of different days and times dependent on business requirements

Ideal Candidate

• Able to work independently to deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• The ability to pick up new tasks quickly and accurately
• Create and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally
• Proven ability to work on own initiative
• Microsoft Excel skills to an intermediate level
• Good Microsoft Office skills
• Well-organised
• Flexible and adaptable
• Good written and spoken communication skills
• Tactful and discreet, as you will be dealing with confidential information
• Trading experience

This is a 6 months fixed term contract position offering a salary circa £22,000 with 34 days holiday pro rata.
