We are currently recruiting for a Technical Author Digital Capability role to help maintain and implement maintenance manuals for the London Piccadilly upgrade programme. You will be responsible for integrating operational and maintenance information as well as production documentations such as VMI’s (Vehicle Maintenance Information), ILOP’s (Intelligent Local Operations), Electronic Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Occupational EHS systems. You will need to have strong attention to detail and knowledge of authoring to really excel within this position.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be based at the London Lantern however, we are flexible as there is an element of remote/hybrid working.
You‘ll make a difference by
- Working with stakeholders to establish and configure the documentation system for optimal creation, approval, distribution, and publication of standard operation procedures
- Evaluating maintenance documentation, collaborate with engineering departments to create manuals, and gather information from third-party suppliers
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance to meet internal control procedures and take corrective measures
- Effectively communicating health and safety responsibilities to the team to ensure all issues are addressed and implemented with agreed improvements with full engagement in safety agendas
- Consistently enhance departmental processes while overseeing relationships and interactions with both internal and external suppliers and our customers
- Enforcement of secure systems and controls within your designated scope of responsibility
You’ll win us over by
- Excellent experience of delivering technical documentation in a heavy industry environment ideally within Rolling Stock maintenance
- Skilled in IT systems; Cormap, SAP
- Experienced in content management systems; 3D CAD, XML authorising tools such as Cortona
- HNC/HND or a degree within electrical or engineering would be ideal
- Detailed experience of railway writing for railway vehicles is preferred
- Knowledge of UK or European Rail Industry is advantageous
