Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a preparative organic chemistry synthesis position at theSiemens Healthcare Diagnostics Mishawaka, Indiana facility; Organic ChemistryGroup (OCG). The position requires 70%lab/bench work and 30% office/documentation. ‘Work from home’ is NOT an option for this position. The normal work week is 40 hours. However,additional time may be required to meet specific product delivery and chemistrydemands.
Education:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Masters (MS) degree.
Degree major: Chemistry (a must minimum) or Organic Chemistry(strongly preferred)
Experience;
3-5 years of relevant experience.
At least 1 year of preparative organic chemistry lab work (Kilo-lab)a must; regardless of education.
Able to prepare production quantities of intermediates and finalproducts following established/approved procedures.
Able to organize, plan, and time manage their workload to ensurereagent delivery: on time, on quantity, and on Quality.
Comfortable working as a member of a diverse production team whilemaintaining responsibility for an assigned personal product portfolio.
Able to collaborate across multiple departments and job functions.
Comfortable working in a regulated work environment (ISO/FDA)
Familiar with cGMP / GLP documentation
SAP experience helpful but not required.
Familiar with basic analytical techniques ( FTIR, NMR, HPLC, TLC,pH) and data interpretation.
