Job Description:

Software Development Engineer – Design and Topology Optimization

Position Overview
In this position, you will become an expert in the algorithms and implementations forming the basis for optimization simulations using NX Nastran. You will be part of the Nastran Optimization group, and contribute to the Nastran product but also the brand new Topology Optimization for Designer product. In this role, you will develop in-depth knowledge of the details of design and topology optimization simulations using Finite Element Analysis in NX Nastran. You will design and implement new methods that benefit performance and/or add new capabilities, in addition to maintaining and extending current functionality.

Responsibilities
·  Responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of the structural and topology optimization module of NX Nastran (major task)
·  Participation in internal and external technical meetings to discuss new developments
·  Writing software requirements and user manual
·  Design and coding the functions as defined in the software requirements
·  Definition of the tests and test scenarii to validate the developments
·  Correction of bugs communicated by the Customer Support
·  Second Level Support
·  Contribution to the design, development and maintenance of the topology optimization for designer product studies (minor task)

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
·  Educational Level: Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or Physics
·  Experience:
·  Experience in Software Development (FORTRAN and/or C++)
·  Proven experience in Optimization or Structural Analysis
·  Experience in Numerical Analysis
·  Specific technical competencies:
·  Proven skills in Fortran or C++
·  Good knowledge of the solution methods used in structural/topology optimization or MDO
·  Familiar with IT environments: Linux, Windows, Unix
·  Languages:
·  Advanced knowledge of English (both written and spoken) is required
·  Good French knowledge (spoken) is a plus.
