Job description
ONE OF the United Kingdom’s iconic sporting venues will be buzzing with high-speed motor racing action throughout the summer of 2015 . . . and you could be part of our team for many of those prestigious occasions.
Showsec will be providing crowd management and event security services at Silverstone Circuit, home of the Formula One British Grand Prix in July, for a wide range of events taking place there over the next few months.
We are therefore recruiting for stewards to play a key role in the delivery of many of these exciting dates in the sporting calendar.
By joining the Showsec team, there are also opportunities to work at many events within close proximity of the Northamptonshire venue.

Event Steward
A steward plays a crucial role in helping to ensure that the event experience is a memorable one for all visitors to the venue.
Safety and security are of paramount importance in dealing with the public, but so too is providing a high level of customer service.
As an essential part of any festival safety management team, you will be acting as the eyes and ears for those running the event.
At all times, a steward should be aware of and ensure the care, comfort and well-being of all categories of spectators.
The hours of work available are varied and flexible and due to the nature of the work you must be over 18 to apply.
Those successful candidates who join the Showsec team will be given all the appropriate training to fulfil their duties to a high standard.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
- To work as part of the event and not a spectator
- To understand the health and safety responsibilities to self and others, including those with special needs and children
- To provide a high standard of customer care
- To ensure familiarity with the layout of the site / venue and the available facilities including first aid, toilet, water in order to assist the public with relevant information
- To attend pre-event briefings, ensuring familiar with arrangements for evacuating the audience, including coded messages
- Carry out pre-event checks
- To ensure an even flow of people entering the venue / event
- To staff restricted areas, segregated areas, exit and entry points
- To monitor crowds for signs of overcrowding
- Investigating any disturbances or incidents
- To provide casualty management until qualified help arrives - by raising the alarm and providing necessary and appropriate help
- To respond to emergencies - by raising the alarm and providing necessary and appropriate immediate help and assisting the emergency services as required
