SHOWSEC are now recruiting for stewards to work at some exciting events in the Harrogate area.

We are looking for Event Safety Stewards to join our team in 2015 for a wide range of operational duties over the coming year.

As one of the United Kingdom’s leading providers of crowd management and event security, we play a key role in the successful delivery of events at many different indoor and outdoor venues in and around Harrogate, including the Harrogate International Centre.

Together with the opportunities that are available locally, you will get the chance to work at national events too.

Casual Event Safety Steward

A steward plays a crucial role in helping to ensure that the event experience is a memorable one for all visitors to the venue.

Safety and security are of paramount importance in dealing with the public, but so too is providing a high level of customer service.

As an essential part of any event safety management team, you will be acting as the eyes and ears for those running the occasion.

At all times, a steward should be aware of and ensure the care, comfort and well-being of all categories of spectators.

The hours of work available are varied and flexible.

Those successful candidates who join the Showsec team will be given all the appropriate training to fulfil their duties to a high standard.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide a high standard of customer care
  • To be familiar with the layout of the site / venue and the available facilities including first aid, toilet, water in order to assist the public with relevant information
  • To attend pre-event briefings, ensuring familiar with arrangements for evacuating the audience, including coded messages
  • Carry out pre-event checks
  • To ensure an even flow of people entering the venue / event
  • To monitor crowds for signs of overcrowding
  • Investigating any disturbances or incidents
  • To respond to emergencies - by raising the alarm and providing necessary and appropriate immediate help and assisting the emergency services as required?
