Social Media Officer

Job description

We are looking for a young, social media savy individual interested in GOING TO TOWN on our social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram). You will be given creative control to tweet, meme and post to help increase our social media traffic and engagement.

Responsibilities:

As the social media officer, you'll need to:

-Develop a social media strategy and set goals to increase brand awareness and increase engagement
-Manage all social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
-Plan content and delivery and use tools like tweetdeck and Asana to manage multiple social media channels
-Develop and manage competitions and campaigns that promote Shout Out UK and brand write engaging blog posts and articles
-Create engaging multimedia content such as short videos, memes and other
-Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
-Monitor and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics.

Working hours:

100% flexible with regular catch up/team meetings in the office or via skype. We work around you!

We are a multi-award winning independent youth news platform that provides young people with the tools necessary to engage in politics and a platform to shout out and be heard. Spearheaded by our Political Literacy Course – and supplemented by a host of different infographics, videos, articles, workshops and events – we are a one-stop-shop for political learning and enrichment.

-Good personal social media following on personal accounts
-Interested in the news
-Witty
-Ability to use photoshop or similar
-Ability to edit (video) (Not required)
